Extracurricular
Activities

At Acton Academy Monterrey, we believe that learning doesn't just happen in the studios. That's why we offer a variety of extracurricular activities to engage and inspire our learners outside of regular studio hours. Our programs are open to everyone and take place in the afternoon and/or weekends, giving students the opportunity to explore their interests and develop new skills.

THIS FEBRUARY

Acton Academy

Presents

CODING, 3-D design
and Robotics

We are excited to announce that, for the second time, we are launching our Technology 4.0 course in partnership with MachineCare Education!

This is a comprehensive 4-level program (Starter, Explorer, Deployer and Master), with 3 sub-levels each (Junior, Staff and Senior). Each sub-level is completed in a semester, so it takes a year and a half to finish a full level.

This is not just a robotics program. Each semester, heroes receive training in 3D design, programming, and robotics. Their newly acquired skills integrate into a final project presented at the Technology Fair.

The exhibition of the final projects includes all participants in the MachineCare Education programs at their different locations, all gathered in the same venue.

ADVENTURE AS
Agency

At Acton Academy Mty we refer to our learners as heroes in reference to the hero’s journey that illustrates the overcoming of obstacles.

This archetype describes the path of a protagonist who responds to a call to adventure, leaving behind their comfort zone, overcoming challenges, and returning home transformed.

As the cycle repeats, presenting new challenges to overcome, our heroes increase their opportunities not only to contribute to their environment in meaningful ways but also to express their life purpose.

This is human agency.

THE ACTON ACADEMY FOUNDER'S STORY

Courage to Grow:
How Acton Academy Turns Learning Upside Down

Courage to Grow is the Sandefer family’s personal quest for their own children’s education and happiness. Their story also contains a path for other parents who want to give their children the freedom to take ownership of their own education and to start their own school. The treasure at the end is much larger than Laura ever expected—a quickly growing network of dedicated, curious young people and parents who are not afraid to set them free.

Courage To Grow Book

We encourage prospective families to read the book and get acquainted further with the Acton approach to learning. It's a very exciting and telling read you won't regret.

Acton Academy turns the educational process into an adventure that channels the natural energy and curiosity of students.
